Why I Choose The Soap Ingredients I Use

I created my soap recipe after experimenting with different oils and butters.  It took a couple of years but I consistently use the same recipe time after time because it feels good, it, it cleans and it moisturizes.

These are the ingredients I use, why I use them and what it does to/for the soap:

Olive Oil – Great moisturizer because it attracts external moisture, holds the moisture close to your skin and forms a breathable film to prevent loss of internal moisture.  It produces a stable lather and is conditioning.

Coconut Oil – Creates a hard bar, cleanses, produces a fluffy stable lather and is conditioning.

Palm Oil – Creates a hard bar and a nice stable lather.

Castor Oil – Attracts and retains moisture to your skin.  Provides a stable lather and is conditioning.

Cocoa Butter – Lays a protective layer that holds moisture to your skin, making it a good skin softener.  Produces a hard bar with stable lather and is conditioning.

Shea Butter – Very moisturizing and nourishing to your skin.  Helps to provide a hard bar with a stable lather and is conditioning.

Coconut Milk – Rich in Vitamin E and is very moisturizing.

Kaolin Clay – Helps to purify and nourish your skin.  Good for dry skin and helps to retain the scent in soap.
